This website is run by Steve's Handyman Services (Steven Cady, Lewiston, Michigan). This note explains what happens to information you send us.

Estimate requests

When you fill in an estimate or contact form, we receive what you type — your name, phone number, email, the job address and description — plus any photos you attach. It is used only to respond to you and to prepare and carry out your estimate and job. It is stored on this website’s server and in the business’s job-management software (Trades Chaser), which we use to keep track of estimates and invoices.

Photos you upload

Photos are resized and have their embedded location data (EXIF/GPS) removed when they arrive. They are stored under random, unlisted addresses and are not shown on this website unless we ask you first.

Cookies and visit counts

The public site sets no tracking or advertising cookies and uses no third-party analytics. We keep simple daily totals: how many times each page was viewed, where visits came from (for example Google or Facebook), whether it was a phone or a computer, and how often buttons such as “Call” or “Free estimate” were tapped.

To count how many different people visit each day, your IP address and browser type are combined with a random value that changes every day and turned into a scrambled code. Only that code is kept, and only until the end of the day; your IP address itself is never stored, and the codes can’t be used to recognise you on another day.
